Celia is chief executive of Parents 1st.
Parents 1st operates volunteer-led community parent programmes in deprived communities. Their well-structured and proven model enables a better start in life for infants, increased emotional wellbeing and healthier lifestyles for new parents and pathways to employment for volunteers.
Celia has 25 years experience as a public health nurse and health visitor. She developed and implemented ‘Community Mothers’ (1990-2008) national model of good practice. MA in Public Health (Health Visiting); BSc Honours Health Studies; Midwifery Certificate: registered Health Visitor; A1 assessor; registered General Nurse; Queens Nursing Institute Honorary Certificate.
She became a Fellow of Queen’s Nursing Institute 2004.
