Professor Julie Green is a highly experienced nurse and educationalist with over 34 years of experience.
Julie is a Queen’s Nurse, Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Chair of the RCN District and Community Nursing Forum, an elected member of the RCN Professional Nursing Committee, Deputy Chief Nurse for the Birmingham Diocese Nursing Team, a board member for the International Home Care Nursing Organization, and she sits on the editorial board of ‘Nursing in Practice’.
Julie’s PhD led to the exploration of person centred consultations, specifically in relation to patients with chronic wounds. A Quality-of-Life Wound Checklist was developed, which is widely used across the UK and further afield and has received several awards. Julie also developed patient story resources, she has undertaken project work around enhancing assertiveness and undertaken evaluations of service transformation. Julie is renowned for her work around the centrality of the patient’s voice in their healthcare experience.
Julie has held several senior roles within Keele University since 2003. Julie was promoted to Professor of District Nursing in January 2020 and now proudly holds the position of Head of School of Health Sciences.
