Community Children’s Nurses Network (CCNN) meeting

Community Children’s Nurses Network (CCNN) meetings are a great opportunity for community children’s practitioners from across the United Kingdom to connect and network, raising the voice of CCN workforce on behalf of children and young people.

The network hosts main UKCCNN meetings as well as sub-interest group meetings focused on specific areas. All events and meetings are held online via Microsoft Teams meeting links. All main UKCCNN meetings are recorded and can be requested by contacting Rebecca.daniels@qni.org.uk.

How to register

Join the UK CCN network and receive monthly newsletters with meeting links, dates, times, and summaries. Professionals, who are not members, but would like to join specific meetings, can email Rebecca.daniels@qni.org.uk.

Upcoming meetings

Main UK CCNN events

• For nurses, academics, educators working with babies, children, and young people in community settings.
• Schedule: 4th Friday of alternate months (January, March, May, July, September, November)
• Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Next Dates: 26 July (Unpaid and Young Carers, Tissue Viability/Pressure Area Management), 27 September (Advanced Care Plans (Part 2) for babies, children, and young people), 22 November 2024 (theme TBC).
• Agenda: External speakers on relevant topics related to community children’s nursing from across the four countries.

UK CCN Network with SAPHNA – supporting CYP with SEND in schools

• For professionals supporting children and young people with complex health and education needs in schools.
• Schedule: 3rd Tuesday of alternate months (January, March, May, July, September, November)
• Time: 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
• Next Dates: 16 July, 17 September, 19 November 2024
• Agenda: Open discussions, best practice presentations by network members and external speakers.

UK CCN Network Equipment and Consumables

• For professionals involved in equipment and consumables provision for community children’s nursing.
• Schedule: 4th Tuesday of alternate months (January, March, May, July, September, November)
• Time: 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM
• Next Dates: 23 July, 24 September, 26 November 2024
• Agenda: Open discussions on current problems, solutions, and best practices around community equipment and consumables.

UK CCN Network Blends with Enteral Devices

• For multidisciplinary professionals interested/involved in blended food for babies, children, and young people with enteral devices (dietitians, nurses, academics).
• Schedule: 3rd Thursday of alternate months (February, April, June, August, October, December)
• Time: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
• Next Dates: 20 June, 15 August, 17 October 2024
• Agenda: Open discussions, best practice presentations and occasional guest speakers on member-identified topics.

UK CCN Network Continuing Care

• For professionals working in children’s continuing care in the community.
• Schedule: Every 3 months (February, May, August, November)
• Time: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
• Next Dates: 30 July, 5 November 2024, 4 February 2025
• Agenda: Open discussions, anonymized case discussions, best practice presentations and occasional guest speakers on member-identified topics.
