Talk to Us© - the QNI Listening Service
The QNI’s listening service, TalkToUs©, offers emotional support by phone to registered nurses working in the community.
The service is operated by trained listeners who are available to speak to any nurse working in the community, residential or social care, primary care or any other setting or specialism in the community. TalkToUs is intended as a friendly ear for those who would like to talk to someone in complete confidence about their life or work. We cannot provide counselling, but we can signpost you to other sources of support.
If you are worried about any aspect of your work or home life and you would like to talk about your feelings, please get in touch.
How to Contact Us
To access TalkToUs, please email TalkToUs@qni.org.uk giving your first name, your phone number and a preferred date and time for a call. We aim to get back to you to arrange a call within 48 hours (72 hours at the weekend as the email inbox is not normally monitored at the weekend). Call backs are usually offered between 11 am and 4 pm, Monday to Friday.
If you need to speak to someone urgently, please visit www.samaritans.org or call the Samaritans on 116 123.

Finding a counsellor or therapist:
Please note: there will usually be a charge to see a counsellor or therapist- some therapists are offering reduced rates or free sessions for NHS personnel but it varies, and some charge according to the individual’s income. GPs can refer for free counselling but there is usually a long waiting-time for this.
