Angie qualified in 1983 and as a District Nurse in 1990.
In 2006, her passion for developing the nursing workforce led her to follow an academic career as Senior Lecturer, leading on the Foundation degree for primary and community nursing and latterly as course lead for General Practice Nursing, at London South Bank University. She was awarded the university’s Equality and Diversity award in 2007.
In 2018, Angie joined the Queen’s Nursing Institute to lead on general practice nursing/primary care as Assistant Director of Nursing Programmes. She is chair of the Association of Academic General Practice Nurse Educators (AAGPNE) and supports nurses new to General Practice who are undertaking the GPN Fellowship in Wessex/Dorset.
Angie strongly believes in tripartite working to ensure a positive and supportive learning experience for all nurses. She shares a passion for developing and helping individual nurses to realise their potential.
Angie is a Queen’s Nurse and was awarded the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Award for Outstanding Service in 2016. She is also a volunteer of the QNI’s Keep In Touch project.
