Rising Stars
Each year the QNI will invite member organisations to identify two to four rising stars in the organisation – depending on the size – to participate in four career development online support sessions. These sessions will be led by expert staff members and Fellows of the QNI.
Our Rising Star sessions run throughout the year and available for nominated employees only. Nominations for the 2024 programme has now been closed.
If you are interested in joining the sessions starting in 2025 and your employer is a QNI Organisational Member, please contact your line manager for further information.
Thank you for being so welcoming and warm during our sessions. You truly showed how much you already believed in us -it made a big difference to how I felt. The learning environment was really good and calm and supportive. I had lots of opportunities to speak and share my thoughts. Thank you so much.
Rising Stars feedbackIt's been really beneficial to reflect on my self-worth and learn about the skills I already have to offer my organisation and my patients.
Rising Star feedbackPolitical Influencing Sessions
One to two senior nurses in each member organisation will be offered the opportunity each year to participate in a member-only political awareness programme led by an ex-MP and/or previous Health Minister. This will include programme webinars, practical exercises in creating evidence to influence policy, and a visit to Westminster to witness political processes in action (e.g. witnessing a select committee in action) and to meet MPs of all parties as a group.
Leadership Programme – discounts
The QNI has developed a highly regarded Ambition to Lead programme specifically for nurses and AHPs working in any community setting. It is notable that the programme has a zero drop-out rate for the last 6 years, and on average 50% of participants change their jobs to a more senior or more responsible role by the end of the 10-day programme which is delivered over the course of a year. Individual mentorship is offered throughout the programme. Member organisations will be offered a 10% discount on the fees for every place on the programme.
Applications for this year’s cohort is now closed. Applications for the next cohort will open in 2025.
