Judith is an Advanced Nurse Consultant and Consultant Psychotherapist who has worked in a variety of clinical posts within the NHS for over 17 years.

Judith has worked within a range of clinical and community settings and her roles have included the provision of specialist clinical assessment and treatment for adults and older adults who have a range of mental health and learning disabilities. She specialises in working with people and systems who have experienced trauma, she is an Independent Prescriber, and specialist assessor for Autistic Spectrum Conditions.

Judith has extensive experience in leading system change and quality improvement. She was a pathfinder Freedom To Speak Up Guardian and established and provided leadership for the Yorkshire and Humber FTSU Network for 4 years. This work was awarded HSJ FTSU Organisation of the year 2019/20. Judith has been active in working with National and Local partners to support the development of health and wellbeing services during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Judith has been published in scholarly heath journals, and has presented at national and international conferences on mental health issues, specifically regarding personality disorder, complex trauma, prescribing ethics, and also systems leadership. Judith was awarded the title of Queens Nurse in 2015 and is an elected Board member of the NHS Confederations Mental Health Network Board. Judith is passionate about service user and professional education. Clinical teaching and supervision is also a core part of her work, and she has lectured at several universities on various mental health topics.

Judith has been active in working with National and Local partners to support the development of health and wellbeing services during the Covid-19 pandemic, for which she was awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in the 2021 Queen’s New Year’s Honours.
