Louise (Lou) is Strategic Advisor to the NHS Confederation, a role that supports working with senior NHS leaders, Ministers and NHS England to influence health & care policy.
Lou has a wealth of experience and a national reputation for clinical leadership and innovation. She qualified as a district nurse and has always maintained her nursing registration, keeping a strong patient-centred focus throughout her leadership career.
Lou set up the highly successful NHS Confederation ICS Network and held the national CEO role at NHS Commissioners. She was previously Chief Executive of NHS Buckinghamshire and NHS Oxfordshire CCGs, becoming one of the first eight integrated care system leaders. She gained a BSc during her childcare period and her Brunel MBA focused on how patient choice affects the hospital supply chain. She is an HSJ award winner for a nurse-led home support project, commissioning teams of nurses and carers to provide integrated care for highly dependent patients.
